Rules the patches support
There is no single crafting bench in the news posts. Production is machines. The 3D printer is real, and the Gunsmith start now includes its instruction note, which is the game's way of saying the manual matters. The Chem Finisher is real, because an evaporator bug was making it refuse wet alcohol. After 1.0.0.5, dry-input recipes ignore a trace of moisture that used to cost an extra night. The Water Purifier, Moisture Farm, and Water Filter are real and have official prices on the items page.
Two community guides describe a shared habit: load the machine during the day, including power, and collect the output after you sleep. They also say the 3D printer and a cryptographic desequencer want a recipe chip, and that a control-click can drop an inventory item into a matching slot. A blender is described as instant, and a heating plate as a temperature dial. Those interaction details are not in the Steam posts we checked, so they stay unverified even though more than one write-up repeats them. Some of those write-ups share wording, which is a weak kind of confirmation.
One official craft does not need a machine. Drag any bandage onto a Glass Shard and you get a Glass Shiv. The bandage is not consumed. That is patch 1.0.0.5, and it is the only recipe on this page with an official source. It is listed with the items, not in the community table, so it is not mixed in with unverified credit values.
Why there is no recipe count
A widely copied guide said the game had 36 recipes on five machines: 15 on the 3D printer, 6 on a desequencer, 7 on the Chem Finisher, 7 in hydroponics, and 1 in a furnace. A community wiki, read the same week, listed 74 entries across more than twenty machines, and gave the desequencer 5 recipes rather than 6. Both numbers cannot be the whole truth. This page reprints only the rows that were fully visible in that wiki table, and it prints the wiki's machine list underneath so you can see what was left out. Do not cite 36 or 74 as the size of the cookbook.
Every row in the table is unverified. Listed values are whatever that table called credits. They are not patch-note prices.
How to use a row without getting stuck
- Read the machine you actually own. A Bottle Printer recipe will not run on a 3D printer, and the table lists both for small water bottles.
- If the row mentions a chip, do not start the night without it. That requirement is community-reported and consistent across the printer rows we copied.
- If the row says the container must be dry, believe the official evaporator fix even if you doubt the ingredient list. Wet inputs waste a night.
- Unpack crates by hand when the row says 'by hand.' Chemical supply crates are listed that way, with the credit figure attached to the crate, not each bottle.
- Treat jar ranges for caviar, fermentation nights for wine, and blender loss percentages as single-source. They are specific enough to be checkable and specific enough to be wrong.
What each lane is for
Water bottles, filters, and the purifier are the legal-looking lane. The store page still calls water a liability. Bottled water in the community table is a few credits a bottle, which only pays if the volume is high and the inputs are cheap. The official machine prices are the ones to budget: 350, 25, and 250.
Weapons in the copied rows are magazines and a box cutter, made on the 3D printer from filament or scrap, sometimes with a metal printer module. That matches the Gunsmith pitch of weapons and mods, and it matches the inspection risk. Printing a magazine is not the same as having a permit to sell the gun it fits.
Chemistry rows are a birth-control pill and a caffeine pill, plus two supply crates you unpack. The Chem Finisher is also the machine one wiki ties to the Say My Name achievement, a Lab Pure product. Another guide calls that product a narcotic. The achievement page records the disagreement. Do not assume every pill is the achievement.
Plants and fish are starts of their own. The copied hydroponic row is BloomBerry, six fruit after three nights, then again two nights later, and a wine bottle that wants the fruit plus at least 749 ml of water. Caviar is listed on a surgery toolset, not a kitchen. Those are community recipes for the Hydroponic Farmer and Aquafarmer fantasies. Green Thumb, the rare achievement, asks for a Huge Nutrifruit, which is not the BloomBerry row.
What is missing on purpose
The wiki header named a cryptographic desequencer, a furnace, a DNA manipulator, an auto butcher, a fridge, a mouse trap, and a recirculating aquaculture system. Their individual recipes were not in the portion of the table this guide could read cleanly, or they were cut off mid-sentence, as the chilled-drinks row was. A half row would become a fake recipe the moment it was completed from memory. If you run one of those machines, the in-game manual is ahead of this page. Send the missing row through the contact page with the patch you were on.
Taken from the Steam store page, Steam news, or the publisher's launch announcement. The same claim appears in more than one independent community write-up, or a Steam achievement id matches those write-ups. Not an official patch note. Single community source, or sources disagree. Help us confirm before you rely on the number. Prices and unlock rates move after patches.
